‘Alias Investigations’

“Alias Investigations” places Jessica Jones in a moment of suspended aftermath: glass in hand, laptop open, her gaze fixed somewhere beyond the room. Rendered in stark black and white, the portrait turns a familiar antihero into part of Che Hojas’s ongoing study of solitary women who refuse performance, perfection, and rescue.

Although rooted in fan art, the painting is also a self-portrait by affinity. Jones’s abrasiveness, independence, loneliness, and supernatural resilience echo the women who recur throughout Hojas’s work: figures who carry damage without becoming delicate, inhabit their contradictions without apology, and continue on their own terms. The ordinary interior becomes a private headquarters, and survival becomes its own quiet superpower.
