‘Private Weather’
“Private Weather” centers a woman within the quiet architecture of a domestic morning, coffee in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Rendered in a stark monochrome palette, the painting transforms an ordinary ritual into a private act of resistance. Smoke folds into the interior while daylight presses through the window, creating a psychological space between solitude and obligation.
The figure is neither waiting nor performing. She occupies an interval entirely her own. The work continues my exploration of women in unobserved moments, where stillness becomes agency and interior life becomes a form of power.
