Unfixed
Unfixed holds a face at the moment it stops behaving like a portrait. Features emerge, collapse, and return through blunt fields of black, white, and gray. Recognition is present, but never stable.
The painting resists the pressure to resolve into one expression or one identity. It treats uncertainty as a state of becoming: raw, exposed, and still in motion.
